I played with some Echo Park this week….I got it HERE!!

I used the LIFE IS GOOD line!! It was so much fun that I really what to create more!!

How I professed my love to Tim Holtz

By watching him demo for over 3 hours without getting up. lol

He is such an amazing instructor! And a very funny, witty guy! I had such a blast in Cincinnati last weekend!

And I learned so much on inking and stamping techniques! You will be seeing alot of my "new skills" with next month's projects! YIPPEE

That is my friend, Sharon, that I went with. She surprised me, too, with 'A Compendium of Curiosities' and had him sign it that night.

I will tell you this! This book is not just for looks, it REALLY does show you how to do ALOT of his techniques!! A lot of what I learned from him in Cincinnati are in this book.And that is helpful because I learned so much, I had to go back in the book to remember some of the steps. Plus, Tim hates when books will not lay flat nor sit up. This book does both.

So, today, I want to show you some 'other' Tim Holtz products.

I love the Lost & Found paper pack by Tim Holtz!! It includes: 12x12 designs, 6x6 designs, 2x2 snippets, ATC and borders!! And it's only $14.99! YOW!

The 'Z' is some old license plates (I am pretty sure) that someone cut up. They were selling them cheap at the Convention last weekend, so I picked up a few packs.

This layout is for Michelle. This is her son, Zane.

I used my 1" circle punch to cut that clock from one of the 6x6 page designs in the pack. I then used a mix of barn door and rusty hinge (which are both on sale!) distress inks to color it. I also backed it with a 1" circle grungepaper to give it some strength and thickness. Added a little spinner and it's good to go!

The strips above are some of the borders found in the paper pack.

I also had some grungeboard stars, so I covered them with another design also found in the pack, distressed the edges with sandpaper and put them throughout the layout.

The staples above were used by my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.

I also want to point out that the main background paper on this layout is alot more vivid. I used a water-downed gesso technique that I learned from Dani a while back to tone it down.

yes, that is my nephew, Rhett, with birthday cake all over his face. and yes, that is a glass of wine in the corner and yes, I have so many distress inks that it is tacky.....moving on.. (lol)

Dip your paint brush into water, then into gesso and paint over your paper. WORK IN SMALL SECTIONS. Then, take an old washcloth/rag and wipe away in circular motions. You are actually working it into the paper while wiping away the excess. Then, repeat until the page is covered. You can do more layers for more washed out effect.

Also, it is wise to back your paper with a 12x12 (or respective size) cardboard or another thick paper. This is due to the water and paint will make your paper buckle. Mine still did somewhat, as you can see in the first photo, but I like how it turned out.

DeLovely Summer Topiaries

Hello! Happy Summer to you all!

It's been awhile but I am back to show you a all new summer version of my topiaries, featuring the DeLovely line by Cosmo Cricket. I just love the bright, cheerful patterns and bold colors from this line, and its really perfect for your end-of-summer last minute projects! This is a mini-topiary. It's perfect for a house warming or hostess gift!

I like to mix up the colors of ribbon and buttons to match the season.

Add buttons, punched paper circles and paper flowers in-between the large flowers for a nice effect.

DeLovely has such great patterns!

Close up of the base. I use ribbon, pins, tulle, and paper for the bottom of each topiary.

Each topiary has its own color scheme.

Happy Friday!!! Its me...Julie Tucker-Wolek with you here today and I wanted to share two lo's I made with the EVER SO YUMMY Melissa Frances line!!!! I loveeeeeeeeeeee this line, it can be used for ANYTHING!! Vintage, girls....family....JUST LOVE IT! :):):):):):):):):):):)

My first lo I made with this line for today is titled, "Mini-Me"!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):) And hehehehehe....this is a LITTLE Julie (Upper right hand corner....hehehehe...like you couldn't tell!) and my DD Brookie!!! I am told all the time HOW MUCH she looks like me!! LOL! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

And the next LO I want to share is titled. "Happiness is....her ruffled skirt"! :):):):):):):):):):):):) I just LOVEEEEEEEEEEE my DD's skirt!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

How does your Garden Grow?

Good morning all!! This is Susan here, once again to share with you a very special project I’ve been working on all week!

And…let me tell you….I’m not normally a mini album type of scrapper but when I received this Melissa Frances album with my BlueMoon box I knew I HAD to create something with it!!

I choose the pictures I wanted to use and started creating. And….believe me….I used SOOOOO many products in this album and the entire list will be at the end of this post.

I covered each of the envelopes with a mix of papers and inked all the edges. I don’t have anything on the tags yet, but I still have many photos that I can add there later.

The photos used in this album were all taken at the end of the summer last year. Each year for the past 3 years, dh has taken care of a vegetable garden in the back yard! These photos show the ‘vegetables’ of his labour! All of his hard work paid off and you will see all the delicious crop we got to eat!

(This years garden is even BETTER, though!! lol)

So…..this post is picture heavy but I hope you like what you see!

Vangie has been working on a video for us and she is now on the Design Team!

Here is a gorgeous 7gypsies Letterpress Tray designed in the Steampunk Era using the newest Graphic 45 papers and staples.

Here are a few items used: 7gypsies Scrapbooking Hardware GEARS GEMS,

Graphic 45 Staples , and Graphic 45 Steampunk papers.

Vangie did a fabulous job on this tray and researched the term "Steampunk"- take a look!

I am so excited about being here with you all! I am so blessed to have been chosen for this job. I promise to bring you some great ideas and inspiration during my term. In this current project, I used G45 Steam punk Debutante, G45 Staples, and 7gypsies. These are great products to work with. I was able to alter the charms and even bend the wings on the watch/winged piece so that it fit in my Shadow Box. Don't be afraid to really work these items; add paint to them, sand them, and even cover them with pieces of altered paper. The possibilities are endless! BE FEARLESS!

I also want to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a mixed media artist for some time now. I started scrapbooking in 1991 after the birth of my only child. Shortly after spending 5-years teaching, hosting, and planning scrapbooking crops and shows I changed my media to glass. I am a "lampworker" and make my own glass beads for jewelry. I have been doing this for several years. I love working with glass. I love the way it melts and folds into little bits of happiness. I have also worked with silver (wire and sheets), clay, dichroic glass, acrylics, charcoal, watercolors, antiques, and German vintage beads. I have a studio in my home where I have a torch, kiln, work table, and tons of mixed media supplies and tools. Many of them which I bought from Lisa and Scott! Currently I am working on mini albums and altered projects. I plan to work with industrial sized vintage spools and the NEW 7gypsies library drawer. LOOK OUT FOR THESE PROJECTS SOON!

I am the mother of a 19-year old boy. He is amazing! I have been married for 12-years to my best friend and I work in a busy ER as a registered nurse (during the Summer). In the Fall, I teach nursing at the University of Arizona! GO CATS!!!

I love to cook (eat), bake (eat), and travel (eat). Do you see a pattern here??? Hehehe...

That's me in about three paragraphs; nothing to exciting. I'm just an average girl enjoying life. I hope to make some friendships through this journey!

I am STILL loving the Mon Ami kit. You get SO MUCH stuff with this kit! It just keeps going and going and...

I took those photos on my iPhone using the hipstamatic app.

I just went over to the BMS site to get the link for the kit and saw that it is ONLY $42.00!!!

Wow! that is so awesome and seriously, you get SO MUCH STUFF WITH THIS KIT!

this white fabric came off one of my old shirts that had gotten stained. But, I loved this part of it, so I cut it up to use for future art projects. hehe

Hello all! B here!
My friend, Christina, suggested that her and I do a photo swap. What a fun and great idea! We said that we were going to make a layout of each other...but, I went a little overboard. You KNOW my addiction to minis, right?! haha

And I just HAD to make her a mini with the BEAUTIFUL kit Mon Ami from BMS!

the black and white polka dot is some material I have had laying around, as well as the black ribbon on the binding rings.

I used the 7gypsies Scrapbooking Ancienne Ephemera Cards as the actual mini album.

I TOLD you I have been in a girly mood lately! lol

Have you guys done a photo swap before? I really enjoyed it, because it was a break from subjects that I normally scrap. It was so much fun!

Hey everyone! How was your weekend?

Mine was excellent! I got to spend alot of time with my fam, which was way fun!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love the Mon Ami kit by Bluemoon. It is my favorite kit in all my scrapbooking life. Now, mind you, I have only been doing this for 6 years...but, STILL.. will ya take a look at this thing?!! (lol)

I am in such a girly scrapbooking mood lately. Do you ever get in phases? Yet, I still do like to add some splatter painting, misting, or distressing..no matter how girly the project gets. :D

We met Christina initially as a shopper at BlueMoon and knew you would like her work - we do! She's a well known YouTuber and very creative!

Here is a little background on Christina. You'll see her work very soon.

Hi my name is Christina Thomas. I live in Dunmore, Pennsylvania with my husband Scott and our 8 year old son Ethan. I started scrapbooking shortly after I married my wonderful husband over 12 years ago back when stickers and decorative scissors where the hot tools to work with. Today my scrapping style ranges from bright and cheery colors to vintage and rustic. Some of my favorite paper collections to play with are Basic Grey (especially the Cappella Collection), Cosmo Cricket, Webster Pages as well as my new love Graphic 45. When I'm not spending time with my family or working full time as the Head of Circulation at the Scranton Public Library, you can find me in my craft room making cards, scrapbooking or just playing with different products. Wow! How I missed scrapbooking for the past 2 weeks!

And I was so excited to get this NEW KIT called EXPRESSO BREEZE!!!

Isn’t that the most fabulous name for a summer kit??

It makes you think of the summer breeze while creating suing the product in this kit!

I sat down and created two LOs right away….and will share one with you today!

I would like to draw your attention to the 7 Gypsies stationary paper and envelope!

They are just so cute! I inked them up a bit using my Tim Holtz distressing inks…that I also bought from BlueMoon Scrapbooking.

And…as always in every BlueMoon kit….there' are lot’s of lettering to use! In this kit you will see American Craft Thickers AND Cosmo Cricket lettering too!!

See the brad and the flower? Both from Basic Grey and also both in this kit!

So….as you can see…this kit is absolutely SUPERB!!! Breathtaking!! STUPENDOUS!!! And all of those other descriptive words!!

Dad's Homemade Mostaccioli

Hello all! B here. I wanted to share one of my Dad's recipes with you today. This mostaccioli is so good that your man will do ANYTHING to get you to make it for him again! ha Trust me, I know from experience.

You will need:

Shredded pizza cheese

Grated Parmesan/Romano cheese (the kind that you shake and sprinkle on)

Ragu: 1 jar Mama’s Garden Sauce (the title is something close to that)

Penne Noodles (only ¾ of a box)

Italian Seasoning (Dad says he uses a lot, this is where you need to add to taste)

1 Tbsp sugar: the secret ingredient

1 ¼ lb hamburger meat: cooked/drained

Sliced pepperoni (as much as you want to add. Dad just added a little b/c it was his first time using pep and it was GOOD. It added another great layer of flavor)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Brown/drain your meat.

In a big skillet over med heat, mix all ingredients (except for your noodles and cheeses).** When emptying the Ragu jar, put about 1-2 inches worth of water in the bottom, swirl around to get the excess sauce and pour into the skillet.**

Let simmer, this is now your meat sauce

Off to the side, cook/drain your noodles (3/4 package)

In baking dish, starting from the bottom:

Layer of noodles

Thin layer of meat sauce

Layer of shredded cheese

Rest of noodles

Rest of meat sauce

Layer of Romano/Parmesan grated cheese

Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes

Then, top layer of shredded cheese (quite a bit) and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the top is browned a little (see photo below)

My Angel

Have you ever had someone come into your life and just change things up SO much? Spin things totally around, smack you in the face and give you a reality check.....someone who didn't even mean to, but because of them, you have become a better person because of it. ??? Well, this is what happened when this little girl popped into my life suddenly.

This is my first born.....my angel. Some may say that I was too young to have her and some may say that I just wasn't ready.....but I feel in my heart that God had bestowed this little angel down upon me for a reason. It's funny how we can become a totally different person when we are given a bigger responsibility. I feel like I grew up the right way because of her and matured into the woman I was supposed to become.

I've heard a lot of people give the advice: "Don't ever change! Always be yourself!" But when your self just isn't good enough and when your self is going down the wrong track, I just don't think those statements should be applied in ones life. There is always room for improvement, I say. If that means something or someone for that matter, can change things for the better, so be it!

My Angel changed my life and instead of saying "She turned things upside-down, I'm going to say that she turned things rightside-up." I'm a better person all around because of her!

I used lots of products that I am just still SO in love with at BlueMoonScrapbooking on my layout. Check out the gorgeous Girls Paperie by Margie papers, Prima flowers and Websters Pages sticker alphas TODAY!!!

I say it's OK. It must be because U R a boy.

Those of you who are sisters to brothers know that boys get away with a lot, right? Maybe that is why they think as men, they still can get away with stuff. ;-) Hmm...now there's something to ponder!

I use this hyperactive attitude and personality my little boy has as an excuse sometimes....that he's just being a boy. Am I setting him up the wrong way for the future? I guess time will tell.

Happy Tuesday all! B here. How was everyone's weekend? I had a 3 day weekend and got ALOT done, so that was great!

Today I want to share what has now become my favorite layout. The journaling/title says "I define who I am. You don't get to."

This is a phrase that I had come up with a couple of weeks ago while reflecting how far I had come in the last 7 years. This phrase totally describes me and what I have accomplished. Yet, I really didn't know what I was going to do with that phrase at the time, but I knew I would think of something soon. lol

Over the weekend, I decided to make some wall art with that phrase for my girl cave. {green button above is vintage, but you can find similar ones here}

Well howz about a girl with a mustache?

Moustaches are all the rage these days and I for one think they are super cool too! This handlebar mustache that I used in my layout reminds me of circus sideshow acts. Like the strong barbell guy and beared lady.

I think they are SO much fun that I even decorated my daughter's bedroom mirror with a moustache rubon.

In honour of Father’s Day coming up really soon (and that reminds me….I have to order an icecream cake for dh…), I decided to create a LO about daddy!!

The photo in this LO was actually taken from an older LO I created waaaaaaaayyyy back when I started scrapbooking….about 6-7 years ago!

I decided to use the same title as the older LO, but, of course, changed up the paper and goodies on this newer LO.

I used all products from the Mon Ami Kit!

LOVE….love those Girls Paperie papers!!!

I used chipboard pieces from Maya Road (I’m sure from a past Bluemoon kit) and covered them with paper for the banner!!

And…totally LOVE the little Pink Paislee mini alphabets!!! Just adorable!!

I added some of my doodling for the finishing touch!

Today I will share my last layout from the Fresh Escapes kit!

YOU MAKE ME SMILE

I used the really pretty teal Hambly screen print paper (the back side of it) and layered with another Hambly screen print-this time the silver doily. This really is a pretty simple layout to put together, most of the embellishment (flowers) were hand cut from the Pink Paislee papers. I flipped the petals and leaves out a bit for some texture on my page and topped each flower off with the Tim Holtz pewter liquid pearls, which is included in the kit! The butterflies are from K & Co, just peel and stick!

Here's more of the pewter liquid pearls being used, this time I tossed in some Martha Stewart glitter and micro beads on top of the wet liquid pearls and just let them dry.

and my title, I mixed up the coral color alpha's with a black alpha I had on hand. But I like the way 2 different fonts/colors look together.

Wow! After all that Basic Grey goodness at BlueMoon Scrapbooking for the past few days, I'm back once again to share what I've created with this kit!!

Deliciously filled with Pink Paislee, Prima, Girls Paperie, Anna Griffin and much much more!!

Check out how well all of these products go together so well in a LO!!

This is a photo of me and my two girls!! This photo was taken while we were on our cruise just a couple of weeks ago!! I miss the ship so much already :o(

But, I took lots of photos and have lots of great memories!!

I kept this LO simple, but I love the way things pop on the black cardstock!! The Pink Paislee pink lettering are amazing and they are perfect for the longer titles!!

See those little mini flowers? They are K&Company and although you probably can't see from this picture, they are actually 3D and pop off the page!!

And speaking of my dd, here she is in all her 'cool' glory! Showing off her new cruise shades!! She had to search until she found the perfect ones....and I think she made the right choice with these!

CHILLAXIN

This is a word I used to use A LOT in 2008-09. It means to chill out and relax, just two common words smashed together into one. Lazy cool!

I picked it as my title for this page because Eva was spotted "chillaxin" on her Nanny's front porch on Easter morning last year (2009).

I'm SO in awe of The Girls Paperie by Margie Line. Everything by that company is just gorgeous!

At the bottom of their papers they show a little strip of the backside pattern and I think that is such a nice feature. Instead of letting it go to waste, I have cut those little strips out and used them to make a border for my layout here. I even used the bar codes.

I've always loved bar codes. I remember 10 years ago I wanted to get a bar code tattooed on the back of my neck. For the numbers at the bottom of the bar code I wanted to use 6000355. Can you guess what that says/means? If you had a pager back in the day, then you would easily know what the numbers say/mean. But if not, try guessing. :-)

You can never have enough Prima Flowers on hand. I LOVE Prima's Fairytale Flowers, especially these ones in Coral. Aren't they just lovely?

Another necessity of mine is Stazon Ink.

I use Stazon ink pads on just about every layout I create. I feel it gives my layouts that finishing touch. I use it on the edges of all the papers I use to define the look I want to achieve and on the plus side.....Stazon is also great for metal, plastic, glass and other non-porous services. Lucky for you, Stazon inks are all on sale right now too. Go check them out in the BlueMoonScrapbooking store!

SHINE

Here's little miss Eva again. Whenever she see's the camera pointed her way, her personality really shines through and you can tell just by looking at her that she's such a happy and outgoing little girl.

Remember I said that you can never have enough Prima flowers? Well, you can't! I'm dead serious. So, stock up on ones like these Belle Arte - Roselle flowers that I used in my layout.

One of the products that Blue Moon sent me to work with this month was a FUN journal album from Little Yellow Bicycles Free Spirit collection!! It is sooooooooo AWESOME!! The pages are nice and thick...no bleeding through even though I used my Sharpie for my writing! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

But, I also am on Sketchy Thursdays and Scrapping the Music and These are a Few of My Favorite Things where there are sketches and prompts that I follow....and sometimes those are just written quickly on a scratch paper and put *wherever* on my desk!! LOL!! And then sometimes I have a HARD time finding those scratch papers!! LOL!! And I also design for NikkiSivils.com and on there I showcase others work that have made lo's with her papers....and I have to keep a list of that also..... Soooooooooooooo I thought this journal would be PERFECT for all my DT assignments! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

We had such a blast with Basic Grey this week at BlueMoon, my regular Monday post will be featured today...Thursday!

This layout is from the Fresh Escape Kit. I used the lighter colors from the kit to really make my photos POP!

WISH MAKER

I started out with a backside of the Basic Grey paper and layered it with the Hambly Studio peacock feather transparency. I really like the way that came out. I did cut some from the middle of my layout to give my eye a landing spot somewhere on this layout.

And this is where it lands...right on the Pink Paislee Artisan Element Frame. A while back I bought myself the new ChipArt Tool by Melody Ross, GCD Studios. It works awesome on the Artisan Frames. I used the alphabet to punch the phrase, make a wish, and rubbed on some distress ink, used some brown Maya Road mist to get into the little nooks to make it stand out and rubbed the rest of. Very easy!

It's fun to see all the different elements come together on a page. I used the Ranger Liquid Pearls, Pink Paislee Cork Buttons, Prima Flower, K & Co Dragon Fly, the Artisan Rubber Frame

I used the Basic Grey stitched brads here along with lots of layering. Gotta love border punches! BlueMoon carries a wide range of punches including my favorite the Martha Stewart and Ek Success.

and some of the stickers here. Just look at that cute lil' birdie!

Some more cute stickers...the kite and little dots. I also used the sticker alpha's. A little stitching under them really makes a big punch.

"MY TWO GIRLS" by Lynnette Davis

In life, I am many of things.....most importantly, a mother. I am a mother to 4 extremely beautiful and healthy kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. Yes, my days are busy and full of life.....and I wouldn't want to have it any other way. I love all of my kids to pieces but let's face it.....little girl pages are so much more fun to create than little boy pages. So, needless to say.....I have a couple of little girl layouts to share with you all today of my girls, Eva and Deja. This first one is of little miss Eva.....

Bella Vita (Beautiful Life)

This is one of my favorite lines out right now.....Girls Paperie by Margie. Here I cut out a couple of flower images from the Cabbage Rose patterned paper.

It's double-sided with a vintage yellow gingham patterned backside. This patterned paper is just SO lovely!

I made the flowers on the paper really shine with Tim Holtz Distress Stickles in Rock Candy.

I also used a strip of 7gypsies Avignon in Orchestra. Still love this paper and I could possibly incorporate it into the majority of my layouts.

For my base paper I used the beautiful new Fancy Pants ROADSHOW in Dilly Dally that you can find in the ROADSHOW Paper Kit.

YOU DAZZLE ME

This girl seriously amazes the heck out of me. She's witty, hillariously funny and she's got an imagination like no other 11 year old that I've ever seen!

This is probably my most favorite layout that I have EVER created.....over my 11 years of scrapbooking. This layout is of my sister's daughter, my niece. It's supposed to elude a fun and funky vibe because that's exactly how I think of my niece Ashlee. I love her fashion style and she has been my new favorite subject to scrap.

Again, I used the Melissa Frances VINTAGE ATTIC TREASURES label die-cuts and Glitz Designs Vintage Love Accent Stickers. They go a long way and I still have lots leftover to use on future creations.

I also had fun with more of the October Afternoon papers using Fireflies this time.
