Let them eat cake!

Happy Wednesday all…. so glad to visit with you today! Now that I’m posting every other Wednesday I’ve sure been feeling a bit of “BlueMoon withdrawal” lately…..no worries though…I’m back to share a heavenly treat created just for you…..

……so grab a fork and a comfy chair….for today’s creation is a delectable slice of cake with all the fixins’……

…..of course I couldn’t resist creating this yummy gift box without my favorite guy Webster (don’t tell hubby, he he)…..not only are these the dreamiest pages but they’re also insanely well made and perfect for creations like this….
....I used this Webster page from the Llulaby Lane collection....and since both sides are perfectly gorgeous with beautiful shades of peachy-pinks and creamy whites....lucious greens and soft aquas I just had to showcase a glimpse of both sides.....

....the box features the fun check pattern...while the lid to this little cake box features the floral side......embellished with soft...feminine touches......like glitter and border punched edges....

....fluttering butterflies created with a bit more Webster's Pages from my stash and its swirling flight created with Melissa Frances pearls.....

.....buttery yellow ribbon sprinkled with a dash of Melissa Frances Mica Flakes....

........and a few Melissa Frances pearls along the edges ......

....and a peek inside reveals more coordinating Webster's Pages joining in...and even though some are from past Webster collections they all work together beautifully....

.....the finishing touch.....a vintage hankie to cradle a special little gift.......

Mini album continued....

Hi friends....Happy Wednesday to ya'! Abby here to share the 5th "page" of my very first mini album. This little project of mine continues to challenge my creativity but I must say I'm havin' lots of fun discovering how a mini album comes together. Beth my dear I don't know how you do it....I've always admired you and all the other bloggin' gals who can put an album together so fabulously but now I'm down right in awwwwwe of anyone who tackles these brain teasers.....

I'm still just a 'babe' at this mini album thing so bare with me as I figure it all out.....hopefully with some practice I'll get better at it, lol. Ok so here we go.....this little number was inspired by an Easter egg.....and it all started with this delicious Basic Grey Nook and Pantry page that Lisa sent me.....I absolutely love the cheerful colors and the different designs through out this page....it was just begging to become something springy and fun.....

....to start I cut along the edge of one of the designs on the page....then adhered just the top portion to layers of beautiful Webster's Pages ......offering sort of a flap or closure....

....along came the embellishments and the shabby touches I can't resist.....a pocket created with vintage lace....an old safety pin with a few vintage buttons...

.....another smidge of Webster became the removable card....

....bits of gathered ribbon along the page.....

.....and a butterfly made her way to this springy themed creation....just covered up a Tattered Angels chipboard with pattern paper and a few glazed brads and she's a beauty....

.....did I tell you how much I love this Nook and Pantry page....I'm sure I did.....you must get your crafty hands on a page or two....you'll know what I mean! And while you're at it....why not check out a few things that compliment it beautifully.....like the Basic Grey sugar glazed brads, Prima pebbles and flowers.....pretty much anything Tattered Angels.....and Webster's Pages, of course!

Spring inspired......

Hi chic-a-dee's how are you doing? Sorry for the delay on posting but I'm finally here to share a few creations for our current challenge to use cardboard and something from the hardware store. I have 3 creations to share today.....the 1st was inspired by my finds in the gardening section of the hardware store....the 2nd the beginnings of my very first mini album.....and the 3rd a sneak peek at a 3D rose painted with Claudine Helmuth's paint ....I'll share the rest of the album and the rose's new home on Wednesday's post....

So here are the details for the challenge:

You live in a rural County, in fact so rural the closest scrapbooking store is many miles away and you get the chance to shop only once in a while. You shop online normally, at… joy, oh joy...Blue Moon Scrapbooking!! On a whimsy, your neighbor says “I’m going to town, want a lift?” Well, you hop in and the neighbor says “I’ll drop you off and pick you up in a bit”. Fabulous – except you have been dropped off at the hardware store with only cardboard shapes, nuts and bolts, wire and mesh… available. Time to push the creativity button as you work with the supplies from the hardware store.

The design team played with Donna Salazar shapes and borders which are fabulous corrugated cardboard shapes and so much fun to create with!

First up....a few seed packets pretty’d up with my "favoritists"….like Webster’s......and K & Co pattern paper, ribbon, vintage lace and buttons….wrapped snuggly with the scalloped edge cardboard in the set....it's also been glitzed up with a bit more pretty paper and ribbon….and topped off with a button…...

…...perhaps a tad “over the top”…...since they are in fact just seed packets… but in my world every little something deserves a dash of lovey-dovey sweetness….. ….and with an extra little envelope for a note and perhaps a Home Depot gift card wouldn’t it be a charming gift for a new homeowner….or perhaps an avid gardener…..

....next the beginnings of my very first mini album....and I must say they are indeed a challenge to create, phew! The first "page" has my usuals like ribbon and buttons and pretty paper......

....a bit of gathered mesh alongside the ribbon and buttons adds a springy, out doors'y sort of touch that I love.....

...and of course you can't have a mini album without a pocket and a little note card.....

....the 2nd "page" is just a few layers of pretty paper.....some covering a little more of the cardboard from the set.....and another pocket with a place for a few pics and notes....

...I must say these cardboard shapes are perfect to add dimension to any project....and they are flexible too....with just enough give to bend a bit....

...the 3rd page features the heart shape cardboard along with more bits of pretty paper and pearls....

....it's also been given a dash of girliness with ribbon, pearls and paper.....it fits just perfectly inside a pocket made from a vintage flower.....

....and on the other side of the heart a bit of space for a few words of love....

....the 4th and last page for today features an enchanting scene from a Webster's Page has been embellished with an umbrella to shade the lovely swan from the sun.....

........it was created by adhering one of the borders from the set to a piece of cardboard from my Chinese take-out.......then covered in matching pattern paper...ribbon...and buttons.....

.....and for the lovely waves of water....how about two more pieces from the set covered in pattern paper....this border happens to have the perfect edge to seem like little waves.....

....so now I leave you with a sneak peek at a little something I'm creating....every so often I get my hands back into creating my 3D rose and I've been dying to create a yellow one for a while now.....so when I received the Claudine Helmuth paint in the kit I knew it was time......

....to create this rose I stamped the image on water color paper 5 times then painted it with the paint....which I must say is the BEST crafter's paint around...petal by petal I cut and created the roses....then added a layer of glassy effects to offer a porcelain-like feel....and a touch of glitter on the edges for a bit of elegance.....don't know yet where she's going though....perhaps a card....or something else....hmmmm

....so now I'd love to see what you can create with some cardboard and a little something from the hardware store....be sure to upload them to our gallery! Remember $40 is up for grabs for the winner.....so give it a go...ya' never know:)

Sorry for the delay....

Hi friends....just a quick post to apologize for not posting my challenge creations today....life's hit me with a slight curve ball that's limited my crafting time this past week. I'll be back though on Sunday to share pics and details on my take for this month's challenge. For now I leave you with a sneak peek of a little something I started working on for the challenge........
.....and here's a hint.....my trip to the hardware store sent me straight to the gardening section.....

A theme continued.......

Hey there friends....Abby here with a couple more pretties created with February's Natural Living Kit! This kit continues to stir up creations inspired by the look of handbags so today I'm sharing 3 different versions.......the first two featuring bits and pieces from the kit....while the third was created mostly with discontinued paper Lisa was kind enough to share with me.....

First up is a barrel style gift bag with handles made of pearls and gems....and the body created with the 7 gypsies Venice page, Basic Grey doilie and a brad from the kit along with a bit of satin ribbon from my stash....

....a view of the side reveals the barrel design with a rounded body and acordion folded ends.....

....the doilie continues on the inside of the bag for a finished look.....

....to accompany this beauty I created a unique card by adding a bit more of the 7 gypsies page to a Tattered Angels chipboard I had in my stash.....

Next you'll discover a very chic "change purse" made its way to my imagination....all it took was the bingo card from the kit and some embellies from my own stash to create this cutie....

.....since I love to add unexpected touches I lined the inside with vintage lace for a true purse feel....wouldn't this be the perfect way to perhaps give a little "green" to a friend in need:)

.....lastly.....a gift bag inspired by an evening bag.....simple and sophisticated....with just a pop of color on the outside.....a touch of lace.....and a brad from the kit....

.....and for a bit of an edgy, funky feel the inside is lined with zebra pattern paper....love it!

.....the brad from the kit added the perfect touch to this lovely bag....

Papier Couture.......

Hello all……I'm back with a couple more lovelies to share with you today….each one featuring bits and pieces from February's Natural Living Kit….which by the way is on SALE!

.....the first creation was inspired by a chic handbag....the kind of handbag you’d find on a modern yet sophisticated lady…......

....many pieces from the kit came together to create this lovely bag.....it began with this Basic Grey page.....and joining it was the Prima Tudor flower topped with crystals from the Basic Grey Bling it On....then backed with part of this 7 gypsies page....finished with one of the brads in the kit...... .....and finally topped off with a touch of the Smooch Spritz also in the kit.....which by the way is amazing....it's sort of like Glimmer Mist but more potent....love it!

....for the finishing touches I created a "compact" shaped card.....layered with a transparency and tag also from the kit.....

........with the inside blank and ready for a sweet sentiment.....

....lastly.....a handle created with pretty satin ribbon and a few pearls.....adding that feminine touch that I can't resist.....

....a peek at the inside of the bag reveals a lovely little built in pocket for the compact card......

....now for the second bag which began its sad little existence as a plain $ Store gift bag and is now pretty'd up with a few beauties from the kit......

....this is a quick alternative to creating a custom made gift bag which can take quite a bit of time....by just adding a touch of pattern paper and satin ribbon to the top and bottom edge.....

....layering a few pieces of coordinating pattern paper like the Basic Grey green checks page and the 7 gypsies page featuring subtle handwritten notes....a 3D flower created by simply cutting and layering the flowers from this page.....and for the stem a smidge of the green tape that comes in the kit comes in handy....just twist and add a bit of your own tulle or ribbon to soften it a touch.....

....and for a little bit of whimsy a little birdie from the Woolies stickers in the kit made his way to this little number....just add a pair of waddling feet with craftwire and you're done....
