This lo is to celebrate the love I have for my FAVORITE dutch girls...Jenneke, Hanneke and Jeanet!!! They are all on my 'These are a Few of my Favorite Things' DT....and they were lucky enough to meet last year at a crop! :):):):):):):):):) *insert jealous Julie here*...cuz I want to meet them all sooooooooo bad!!!! *hopefully someday!* :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

And omygosh!! I am LOVING these flowers by Basic Grey!!!!! They are from their Kioshi line...and soooooooooooooo YUM! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
My little birdie on here is also from that line....JUST LOVE IT! :):):):):):):):):):):) And the alphas are also from Basic Grey new Kioshi line!! They have some of the best alphas! :):):):):):):):):):):):)

Perfectly Penelope - Perfectly Pink

When I opened up the box from Bluemoon Scrapbooking on Tuesday, the color PINK jumped out at me!! I love PINK....and I think it may just have something to do with the fact that I have two daughters and pink is an easy color to use when I'm scrapbooking their photos!!

So, today I was off work and decided to create! It was easy do do with all of these delicious goodies!!

The first LO I scrapbooked a photo of my mom's flowers in her garden back in Newfoundland! They are so pretty and I thought the PINK paper from Anna Griffin would be perfect!!

I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress ink which is also PINK!!

I embellished the page using these gorgeous little Prima Cameo Roses! How VERY cute! Also, Anna Griffin 3D words and flower. Also from Anna Griffin the glitter chipboard letters!! FABULOUS!!

The finish it off, I used a swirl embellishment from KandCompany!! Look at how that black just POPS on the PINK!! I added a subtle white stitching around the dicut page and I am very happy with how this turned out!!

For the next LO, I used an older photo of my daughter! She was posing so pretty here and that shirt she's wearing was her VERY favorite!

Look at those Journaling Chipboard pieces from Prima!! They are such a beautiful way to embellish a page!! I used the glitter lettering from Anna Griffin again....and placed an added touch of this big Lace Ribbon from Webster's!!

GRUNGY FUNK

Happy Tuesday all! B here! How was your Easter?
Well, if anyone visits my blog, you know that one of my girlfriends and I went and got our noses pierced on Friday. It is something I had been wanting to do for a while, so we did it!
I am sooo loving grungeboard right now! There are so many techniques to decorate it!

Amy went first. And I sooo was not nervous until I saw her go through it! lol

I ripped some of my watercolor paper from a notebook and misted it for journaling spots.

I went next and it sure did hurt! But, only for 5 seconds.
I really like how small and dainty the piercing actually is.

Our piercer ended up being someone I knew. She was from my same hometown (2 hours south of St. Louis). She was super awesome, gentle and QUICK! (key word being quick here! ha)


The large skull below is my FAVE! I love the hot pink and red colors. A layer of glossy glaze was poured on top.

I can't believe it's Monday already. Where do the weekends go?!?!?

Well, this weekend I had the pleasure of working with Mirabella, the BRAND NEW kit from BLUEMOON SCRPBOOKING! Just click here to see the beauty the Mirabella kit holds.

My first project using the Mirabella kit is a layout of my daughter. I found a poem online and printed it on a transparency.

MY DAUGHTER

I like to group clusters on my layouts. It gives the page texture and your eye seems to stop and look at all the layers. These are the K & Co Grand Adhesion flowers mixed with the American Crafts Bontanique Paper Shapes. I love the different textures you get from the chipboard, paper, threaded buttons and pearls.

I added a couple areas of clusters on this page. Actually using the beautiful Prima paper, they were already build right into the page, I embellished what they had. For the little journaling area I used an exacto knife and cut around some of it and slipped the Making Memories die cut paper under it.

Here's a close-up of the poem I used.

Since this kit is packed full of embellishments I added a few more clusters. The American Crafts Botanique chipboard shapes are my favorite. You get 24, so there's plenty to go around! The Alphabets in the kit are the most perfect match I have ever seen. The font, the color...perfect!

Here's another chance to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Mirabella, when she's gone, she's gone! The first thing I though of when I seen this kit was, it would be the perfect kit for a mini album or a few layouts for a golden 50th wedding anniversary with the beautiful gold tons in the kit. So many possibilities!

I'm SO happy today. For the past few months I have been packing in a lot of things into my postings to share with you all as I shared my Saturday postings with my beloved DT partner, Julie. Well, today marks the first Saturday that I get to have all to myself. EVERY Saturday now I will be posting here to inspire you. For me, that is great news! I hope you're excited too!

So, today I will like to share a couple of LO's I've been working on. This first one is to further inspire you to create something for our April challenge this month - Paper Cutting. We want to reward someone with a $40 shopping spree to the BMS store but you'll need to show us your paper cutting skills! We inspire you, help inspire us!

This LO is titled A ROMANIC SHINDIG. This is my cousin and her boyfriend at some sort of shindig where they had to dress up. I'm guessing a wedding maybe because her bf's wearing a suit when he usually wears surfboard shorts.

Every year we get professional photos taken of our family and every year we try a new studio. This year we went to Olan Mills. Deja and I got matching dresses and I ended up finding a cute plaid skirt for Eva to match. However, with this pose you can hardly tell the work I put into our wardrobe so I was a little dissapointed. Maybe next year we'll hire a photographer that can go on location so that we can get LOTS of awesome shots with the clothes and shoes I pick out every year. This LO is simply titled FAMILY PORTRAIT.

You've taken a class with a Chinese paper master cutter, now after an afternoon of intense study it's time to put your new found skills to the test. Pour yourself a very small cup of tea get yourself balanced, pull out your very sharp scissor (we love Tim Holtz Scissors!) and the ancient spirits will work their magic in your fingers.

In simple terms: Take a paper with a graphic design, like Webster's Pages, Graphic 45 or even American Crafts and make the paper be one or more of your embellishments. Cut and have fun.

How can that NOT be FUN!!! I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to cut into papers!!!! YUMMY!!! Soooooooooooo for my take on the challenge....I used Webster's Pages ....their new Life's Portrait papers in fact (*swoon*)....they are sooooo easy to cut from!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)



Added just a touch of Glimmer Mist to make the background stand out :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)


Then I added some pop dots to make it all stand out! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
