PHOTO HEAVY, LET ME TELL YA!

B here and I warned you....picture heavy! LOL!

Ok, so I went a-croppin' with one of my girlfriends at my LSS this past weekend and I got alot done! I am so proud of myself. heeee
This layout was made for a sketch challenge they have going on up there and could easily be used as another example for Bluemoon's current challenge.
I also tried something new this weekend....GRUNGEBOARD!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! You will be seeing alot more of it from me in the future.
I also just love the colors of this Websters Pages paper! It's from their Seaside Retreat Collection.
The photo is vintage and I found it at an antique store in downtown Paducah. The alphas are Dear Lizzy/AC and Websters Pages.

Now, on to my NEW FAVE PROJECT!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THE NEW MAYA ROAD CANVAS MINI!
I tried out the new Maya Road Mist Resist and it was sooo cool! If you are into misting and get tired of trying to find the right alphas to make titles or the right shapes for the project you are working on, forget it! You can just draw it on!~
After drawing your image on, let it dry (usually takes about 8 minutes), mist away. Let that dry, then peel off the resist.
VOILA!
The butterfly is from KandCompany and the flower from Prima.

This is what just about every other weekend looks like to us. The four of heading south to see the fam. Miya in the back (but practically sitting up front) and Tuck likes to help drive.

I have had this Tim Holtz' metal number kit FOREVER! They last for such a long time, you get so many numbers for such a low price. They are so much fun to add a touch of metal to your pages or projects.

This was one of the butterflies that I used as a mask throughout the project, then used the misted side as an embellishment!
I really love how the splatters turned out on this page!

I soo hope you guys have enjoyed this today! These projects were sooo much fun to make!
I do believe I will be making another canvas mini soon! haha

Don't forget to enter your Master Cutter challenge takes to the BMS gallery!

Have a wonderfully creative week!

Melanie's week 4 of the Cherry Banner kit....

Hi All!

Today's the fourth week of using my Cherry Banner kit from BlueMoon, to bring this kit to an end this month I made a couple cards. Notice I did a little of the "hand cutting" of paper, which is our challenge this month at BlueMoon. You can read more about the challenge here!

Card 1:
HAPPY SPRING

I don't know what I'd do without stickles! I use them on everything. (So does my 9 year old daughter.)

Card 2:
YOU ARE SO SWEET

Short and sweet today! Just a reminder to join us for the April cutting challenge, please upload to our gallery.

Next week will be the start of a new kit, it's so pretty! It's called Mirabella, it's in the store and available right now! I can't wait to share my layouts with you.

Have a great day!

Don't get a paper cut! by Lynnette Davis

Wanna know what my favorite scrapbooking product is? It's probably no surprise because a lot of us are PPP's (Pretty Patterned Paper) fanatics! Am I right or am I right?

I mean, it's the first thing in a crafty store that I flock to....even when I'm online shopping....it's probably 80-90% of my overall purchase. I LOVE me some PPP!

When you think about it, it's a pricey piece of paper but with all the endless looks you can achieve with a single 12x12 sheet it's really rather worth it IMO.

One of my favorite techniques when I create is to use patterned paper as an embellishment. How so? Well, it's easy! Find a PPP with a design on it (like butterflies or flowers for instance) and start your cutting. I have precision scissors that help out a lot with my detailed cutting and I absolutely LOVE the results I get when I'm done.

You must have patience when you cut because it can take a long time. Not to worry though.....Blue Moon Scrapbooking is challenging you to try this simple technique. For doing so you could win a $40 shopping spree in the BMS store! How awesome is that?! Lisa & Scott are mad I tell you!

All you have to do is create something, anything using the paper cutting technique and upload your image into the BMS gallery and wait for judging. It's that easy!

To help inspire you further here is a recent LO I created using this paper cutting technique.
This LO was inspired by one of my favorite scrapbooking artists and is of my youngest daughter trying to hide her face. She thinks that when she can't see me, I can't see her. LOL
EYES WIDE SHUT

You can find most of the products I used on this LO in the BMS store.

-Basic Grey Origins - Brown Sugar Scrub PPP

-7gypsies Avignon PPP

-Making Memories Paperie Green House Alphas

-Smooch Spritz in Gold Glow

You'll notice that I took the NEW 7gypsies Avignon PPP and cut away at it. After doing that, I distressed it by crumpling it and inking it and then adhered it to my page using brads.

This 2nd LO is all about the way I feel for my husband (although I can't take credit for the poem as I found it online). Still, it is the way I feel......

I'm delicately handing my heart to you
In your caressing hands to forever keep
I'm giving you the chance of destroying me
And I know I'm in your love too deep
I'm giving my entire self to you
All of my mind, body and soul
Handing over to you my everything
In hopes you'll be the one to keep me whole
I'm depending on your gentle and sweet love
To get me through the tragic world each day
I'm praying to God you'll always be here by my side
And that's where you'll always be to stay
Putting you over everyone else including myself
You automatically go to the front of my line
Which is why I'm delicately handing you my heart.....
In hopes you will always and eternally completely
BE MINE

It's also a scraplift of one of my favorite artists.

You can find mostly everything I used here in the BMS store.
-The Bazzill Basics Cardstock Dotted Swiss (white background paper) I believe is sold out. Although you can still get it in "pepper" and "deep blue."
-The Vintage Plaid PPP is from the Basic Grey June Bug's Collection. Plus, it's on sale now!
-You can get the Smooch Spritz in "Gold Glow" alone or with the "Natural Living Kit" which is a great investment because it's not only on sale right now but it will last you a very, very long time!
-You can get the Creative Imaginations tickets in a set of 12 or if you do decide to purchase the Natural Living Kit you'll get a couple in there too!
-7gypsies "Tas" PPP
-One of the NEW 7gypsies "Avignon" PPP
-Some leftover supplies from my "Hugs and Kisses Kit" including the Pink Paislee BE MINE tag and Fancy Pants heart shaped stick pin.
Hope I've done a good job inspiring you and don't forget to check out the items in the BMS store to create a similar look if you want to. Have a good weekend everyone!

New Challenge at BlueMoon/Monday with Melanie...

First of all HAPPY SPRING!!!!!! (I didn't get to say that yet!)

Please join us for our monthly challenge at BlueMoon Scrapbooking. We have had a great turnout with all of you joining us and sharing your awesome work. The challenge for April goes something like this:

You've taken a class with a Chinese paper master cutter, now after an afternoon of intense study it's time to put your new found skills to the test. Pour yourself a very small cup of tea get yourself balanced, pull out your very sharp scissor (we love Tim Holtz Scissors!) and the ancient spirits will work their magic in your fingers.

In simple terms: Take a paper with a graphic design, like Webster's Pages, Graphic 45 or even American Crafts and make the paper be one or more of your embellishments. Cut and have fun.

As you know for me...this is a way of (scrapbooking) life, this is my secret to my pages. I always use the graphics in the paper and cut them out.

I put my Cherry Banner kit into use, cut out a ton of graphics and put together this layout:

SPRING BLISS

I cut the banner from one of the Dear Lizzy papers, curled up the edges a bit to give it some movement.

The flower pattern from one the America Crafts papers work perfect for cutting out patterns and layering them. Of course I added stickles to the flowers for more texture. The little tiny flowers in the flower basket were from the American Crafts thickers sheet, they are perfect for the bike's basket.

I used a lot of layering here with the fence, bird house (with little flowers added to it), the bird (with a wing) and of course more of those flowers.

There's my take on today's challenge. Take out your scissors and start cutting away. I can't wait to see what everyone does. Please post your layout or project in our Creative Challenge gallery at BlueMoon.

Have a great week!
~Melanie
